The loan is one of the most important services provided by the libraries to the beneficiaries, and it measures the effectiveness of the library and is often supervised by an employee who records the material before issuing it to the borrower and confirming it if returned by the beneficiary. Functions of the lending department and beneficiary services:
* Handling the borrowed material that the beneficiary requests outside the library for reading at his home or any other place.
* Renewal of borrowed materials that have expired loaned and the borrowers are still in need, and usually the Deanship allows renewing the same book once again.
* Reserving books when retrieved for some of the beneficiaries who are in urgent need of them.
* Following-up of the delayed material and remind the borrowers by contacting them by telephone.
* Responding to queries of visitors to the library of students and researchers at the direct visit.
